#104

So, I had all 10,000 burpees accounted for on Friday, December 23rd.  Friends and family all over the US including many kids as well.  If you can't make your kids do 100 burpees, what fun is it being a parent.  Someone posted that they did their 100 in 6:22 - I was impressed and it gave me a time to go after.  I can't have someone beat me on my event!!!  I was  able to do my 100 in 6 minutes flat -love having that push!!!I thought 101 the next day would be awful, but surprisingly it wasn't, neither was 102.  BUT 103 was terrible, I hit a wall - my shoulders were on fire. I did a lot of stretching and shoulder mobility throughout the rest of the day which definitely helped.  Today, they were doing "Annie" at my box - so I incorporated my 104 burpees into it. I started with 4 burpees, then 20 after each set in "Annie".  "Annie" is 50-40-30-20-10 of double unders and sit ups.  My time for that was 15:58, which I was happy with.  Total count 5460!! Don't forget to donate and pass the word along.....mammogramsinaction.org

#96

Yesterday was day #96.  For some reason, more than usual, the 95 burpees the day before seemed incredibly boring so I decided to turn day #96 into a WOD.  I did 6 rounds of - 16 Kettle  Bell swings (30#), 16 burpees and 16 sit ups.  Today I will do 97 and I am looking forward to 100 people doing 100 burpees with me on Friday from all over.   I have a few corporate sponsors willing to make a donation to Mammograms in Action if I get all 10,000 burpees accounted for.

Day #84

total count...3570!!!  I have  a crossfit competition this Sunday - for the first time I am part of a team (2 guys/ 2 girls). I am very excited about it; however, the extra team trainings over the past 2 weeks have made the Burpees a little more difficult but I am getting them done every day and still doing them in one sitting.

Day #70

I just finished my 70 burpees for today.  It's funny how some days don't seem so bad and other days are pure torture.  Today was a good day, I felt good and I did 'em pretty quick.  I also put out a challenge on facebook for December 23rd -which will be day #100 of this burpees challenge.  I am attempting to get 99 other people to commit to doing 100 burpees on that day - lookin' to see 10,000 burpees be done on that day for a great cause.  If you follow this blog but are not on facebook and would like to join his challenge for Dec. 23rd, please let me know!!

#62

Wow - I did my regular crossfit workout this morning at 6am.  The WOD was 3 rounds for time: 300 meter farmer's carry (35# kettlebell) and then 30 burpees.  One of my friends asked before the class if I was gonna use the burpees from the WOD towards my burpees4boobs count.  I told her I hadn't decided and when I was getting ready to start the 3rd round of 30 burpees, I was thinking "hell yeah, I'm counting them". However, once I recovered I decided to keep them separate - at least for now.  When I started this, I said I would not count burpees from my regular WODS (not until I at least get to the point of 100 or more a day) - that being said... I just finished my 62 burpees for the day!!!! total count - 1953!!!!  Breaking 2000 tomorrow :)

Day #60

B4B

I know it's been a while since my last post but I have been doing my Burpees - I was in Key West for the Halloween weekend and still managed to get them done.  Day #45 I passed the 1000 mark for total count.  Today I will be doing 49.  Again, I haven't been able to film all my burpees but they have all been witnessed by someone.  I do plan on taping tomorrow's burpees for day #50 - thinking about doing burpee pull-ups!

Day #41

Today is day #41 which brings my Burpee total to 861, not including the 72 burpees I did during my 6am WOD.  All of my burpees have been witnessed by someone - still tryin to find a better way to record them.  I want to thank Lauren and Andi for their donation to mammogramsinaction.org!!!  xoxoxo

Day #33

So, today is day #33 of my challenge. Since 33 is my favorite # I decided I would make up a WOD (workout of the day) using 3 of my favorite crossfit exercises.  I think I'm one of the few people that actually like to do wall ball shots - but I do -love 'em.  Here's how the workout went - 11 wall ball shots using a 14# ball and hitting the 10' line on the wall, then 11 sumo dead lift high pulls (SDHP) with the 55# kettle bell and finally 11 burpees... did 3 rounds of that.  I took video of it - I know I got at least 1 round and maybe some of the next before my camera stopped - I need help from some techy person to be able to film longer segments or maybe just a better camera...hmmmm.  I will do my best to get at least the one round posted.

Day #32

Today was fun!  I did a kind of crazy longer 9am workout at Crossfit Threshold with Chris and Grace and then Grace asked me to stick around so we could partner up and do the 10am team WOD.  Of course I said I would....I have to keep up with these young people.  So after workout #2, I mentioned having to do my 32 burpees and asked if she wanted to join me.  Well there are such awesome people at my crossfit, that the whole class ended up staying and doing 32 burpees with me!!! Total count now is -528!!!

Burpees 4 Boobs

I am going to use this blog to journal online and keep track of my Burpees throughout the year.  For any of you that do not know, I lost my mother to breast cancer at the young age of 52 after a 2 year battle with the disease.  When I turned 30 I had to fight with my insurance to get them to cover a mammogram despite the family history and the fact that I had 4 children and wanted to be proactive with my health.  I decided to do this year long challenge to raise funds for a non-profit organization called "Mammograms in Action" which helps low income and uninsured people get mammograms.  Please pass the word around and help support this cause -http://www.mammogramsinaction.org/ .  I  started this journey on September 15, 2011 which would have been my mother's 62 birthday.  I did 1 burpee on that day and have added one burpee every day since.  Today I will be doing 26 burpees bringing the total to 351.  After this year long journey I will have done 67, 161!!! It sounds horrible....trust me, I know but compared to the daily struggle people go through (that my mother went through) living with cancer it's nothing!   I will be posting videos throughout the year for accountability.  Thank you for your support.
